MIrror like

I think the sky was very nice and with the reflection from the lake the whole scenery is magical.

Seurahuone

This building used to be a hotel. The building almost fell into disrepair until someone bought it and renovated it. Nowadays there are business premises and a cafeteria on the ground floor.

Roosa

A nice old wooden rowboat. It's called Roosa.

Shepherdess

This statue of a shepherdess stands in the center of Seinäjoki. It was designed in the 60's by Jussi Koivusalo. It stands for agriculture where are the roots of Seinäjoki's trade and industry. You can see from the fallen leaves that autumn has come.

Wallsport

This is a "bubble hall", a sports arena called Wall Sport Arena. I believe it's mainly used for football(soccer), pesäpallo(finnish baseball) and golf practice. There is also a gym, sauna and cafeteria.

Glass

This glass wall could represent the City Daily Photo past theme day of March 2009:Glass.

Old supports

These are old support structures for a water channel. 

The channel was part of a sawmill nearby. 

Or that's what I've been told.

Something goin on

Some construction work started on this street last week. They are going to make it "pedestrian oriented", meaning just a narrow lane for cars and wide walkways.

Ornament

This peace of art is on the wall of an apartment house. 

I don't know the meaning of it, but I think it' nice.

Yritys - Daycare

This is a playschool called "Yrityksen päiväkoti". It's named after the original owner of the house and the founder of first daycare center in Seinäjoki, Saima Yritys. Her husband was a sawmill owner Israel Yritys. The house was designed by the architect Matti Visanti.

Don't eat

This is a fly agaric. It's a poisonous mushroom. Please don't eat.

Door

From the archives: this is the door of the "Suojeluskuntatalo", "Civil Guard House.

Rusty Street Lamp

This street lamp has enlightened many dark winters. The pole is a bit different that I've used to. It reminds me of a communication mast.

Sunflowers

These sunflowers bloom by the road which I drive almost every day. I never before had a camera with me when driving past them. Today I did.

Military stuff

There was a big military concert, Tattoo,  in Seinäjoki Arena today. On the break some of the finnish defence forces's equipment was being displayed outside the Arena. Here you can see a tank, antiaircraft cannon and a troop carrier.

Bumps

There was(is) a legend that these holes were made by bombs some day. But the truth is, as far as I know, that they are designed by the architect who designed this whole park. 

The park is called "Myllypuisto", "Mill Park".

Power

This is one of the power plants in Seinäjoki(the largest one). It gives electricity 

and thermal power. The plant consumes coal and peat.

Water

As mentioned before, the river "Seinäjoki" isn't very big. Here is a place where it goes a few meters down.  The big ones are called rapids or falls...but what is this called.

Pines on the rock

This is from a place called "Hallilanvuori". It is an outdoor area having jogging 

paths(ski trails in winter) and other activity opportunities.

Watertower renovated

This old watertower was recently renovated. It has an all new brick cladding.

Kivirikko - house

This is the house of the cellar presented yesterday. It's called "Kivirikko". It was originally built for the senior physician of the nearby hospital. In 1930's. Nowdays it is used for e.g.weddings. 

Who lives here?

This little house almost seems like some fairy tale creature could live in it. Still it's just a cellar.
